Privacy policy

Effective 15 October 2026 · Applies to Mingui and Mingui Root, by Abyss Studio.

The short version: Mingui collects nothing. It has no internet permission, so it can't send your data anywhere, and nothing you do in the app ever leaves your phone.

What the app stores, and where

The following are saved only in the app's private storage on your device:

No one else can read this data, including us. Uninstalling the app deletes it. If you use Export backup, the app writes a file to a place you choose. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. The app does not request Android's INTERNET permission, so it has no way to connect to anything.

Permissions and what they're used for

Usage access
Tells the app which app is open right now, only to compare it with your own block list. It is not recorded or shared.
Display over other apps
Shows your checklist over apps you chose to block, and lets your buddy walk on screen.
Notifications
A status line with a Pause button, and the reminders you schedule.
Run in background / battery
Keeps the blocker running so Android doesn't close it.
Root access (Mingui Root only)
Hides and unhides the apps you chose to block, and grants the app's own permissions.

Each permission is optional until you turn on a feature that needs it, and the app explains why before asking.

Children

Mingui isn't directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a future version ever added any network feature, it would be opt-in, and this page would say exactly what is sent.
